Redding

April 2018 — I was born in Redding, CA and have spent my whole life here so far. Redding belongs to Shasta County and it is located on the western part of the United States. There are both good and bad things about Redding like just about every town but the problem that has been getting so much worse in the past few years are the homeless people. Crime is becoming so rampant and you basically have to have a conceal carry permit just to feel safe doing the basic tasks in this town. There are so many homeless people just about everywhere you look and where homeless is not a crime, these particular people in this town are hooked on drugs and do not want to help themselves. We have many programs in place to help people in need but for the majority of them, they are people who don’t want help and they just want to prey on the weak to get what they need. If you can get past all of that, there are some good things about this town. There are two lakes (Shasta and Whiskeytown), fishing, hunting, snowboarding on Mt. Shasta, and community events all nearby. If you are into the great outdoors then this place is definitely for you because it is surrounded by mountains and is BEAUTIFUL. All in all, if you are vigilant when it comes to dealing with people and are looking to get away from the big city life while still enjoying a sophisticated community, Redding might be a good fit for you.
